Careprost (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) is an eyedrop medication that was originally developed to treat glaucoma by lowering pressure within the eye. It does this by increasing the rate of drainage of fluid (aqueous humour) from the eye which decreases intraocular pressure and safeguards the optic nerve. It has recently gained attention for its off-label cosmetic use as it encourages growth of eyelashes making them longer, denser and darker. This led to it being rebranded as Latisse and marketed for eyelash enhancement. In order to safely and effectively use careprost, it is important to follow all of the instructions provided by your doctor. Careprost should be instilled once daily, typically in the evening, and only on the skin of the upper eyelid margin at the base of the lashes. It should not be applied to the lower lid or eyebrows as this can result in undesired hair growth. It is also important to note that it may take up to 2 months before you see the full effect of careprost on your eyelashes. When using careprost, it is important to avoid contact with the tip of the bottle or applicator and any other surfaces as this can cause contamination that can lead to eye infections. It is also important to wash your hands immediately after instillation of the drug. Careprost should be kept in its customized container at ambient temperature and out of reach of children and pets. Some of the most common side effects associated with the use of careprost include itching in the eyes and eye redness. These symptoms usually appear shortly after application and last for a short period of time. These side effects do not necessarily indicate that the eyes or skin are being harmed and should resolve on their own. If you experience a severe itching in the eyes or eye redness that does not subside, consult with your physician immediately. Other less common side effects of careprost include a darkening of the skin surrounding the eyes, dryness of the eyelids and increased brown pigmentation of the colored portion of the iris. These side effects should not be alarming, but they are important to be aware of when using the medication. It is also important to keep in mind that careprost should be used for the entire length of treatment as discontinuation may result in an increase in intraocular pressure or even loss of vision. It is also important to consult with your ophthalmologist before taking any new medications or supplements while using careprost as this could lead to an adverse interaction. Before you buy careprost online, make sure that the website from which you purchase is authentic and reputable. You should also check the site’s privacy policy to understand how your personal information will be used. In addition, it is a good idea to look for reviews and feedback from other users of the medication as this can provide insights into the quality of the product you are purchasing.
